In the light of newer scientific knowledge, the modern and fashionable opposition of man and world gives way to the insight that we humans are elementarily connected to the world, that we are not, because of our spiritual and cultural nature, foreigners in the world, but that we – quite as those intellectual and cultural implementations have themselves arisen from evolution – are worldly beings through and through.
